Hemp Seed for a Healthy Snack
Dieters often have difficulty fighting off urges for unhealthy snacks. Learning what things that can be healthy to snack on is usually important to them. One choice that definitely is a healthy one, and people are turning to more and more, are a variety of small seeds such as hemp seed.
They are loaded with an ample amount of minerals and vitamins, are very low in unwanted fat, and a preferred low GI snack. The fact is that a GI diet states that the seeds release energy slowly, and this makes them stave off hunger pangs. There are many seeds to choose from including the linseed, pumpkin, sesame, sunflower, and hemp seed.
All the seeds not only have a low sugar content but are also loaded with fibre, but the hemp seed even contains more, and the linseed could act like a laxative. The little sesame seeds contain a high amount of calcium and are simpler to eat when they are combined with some more larger seeds. The sunflower seeds and the flavorful pumpkin seeds are rich in iron, vitamin C, and zinc.
I just keep a mix of seeds handy in a jar, this jar is usually kept on the kitchen table or other parts of the kitchen, this is a good way for you to keep from eating a biscuit instead. At the health food shops you can purchase packages of mixed seeds, or you can purchase the seeds individually packaged and the mix them together on your own. You could also add some dried fruit like pineapple or papaya, some sultanas, or even some nuts.
You need to know though that some seeds on the market, have been fried or roasted, which can make the unhealthy, especially because oil and or salt is added to them, compared to the raw versions of the seed.
Aside from munching on the hemp seed and other seeds when you want a snack, they can also be cooked with. You can add them when you do a stir-fry, onto your low-fat yogurt, to salads for some crunch, and even to you cereal. These might be small in stature size wise, but all seeds are very healthy to snack on, even the hemp seed.
